City of Chicago
Public Art Brochure
As a life-long Chicagoan, and someone devoted to the city as a place for artistic production, this 64-page publication is one for which I am most proud. Chronicling every major piece of public art owned by the city, the book makes its way into the hands of tens of thousands of tourists and art enthusiasts every year. I once was standing underneath Alexander Calder's "Flamingo" and saw two women enthusiastically reading from the book. I introduced myself as the books designer. They gave me a hug, and told me that they've kept the book for a few years, and bring it with them every time they visit Chicago. If that's not something a designer can be proud of, what is?
